The building which currently houses the Fayette County School Corporation Resource Center, and the East Central Educational Service Center (ECESC), originally was the county's first high school, built in 1904.
The Resource Center is a training facility that also houses materials and resources that are used to support education in Fayette County. The center houses supplementary materials used by teachers, students, private tutors and community members via a checkout system. The Resource Center currently houses district offices for Head Start, Title I, and Curriculum Resources. A conference room is located on the first floor, and a district computer lab is located on the second floor. The gymnasium is used for sports practice and community and school basketball leagues throughout the year.
East Central Education Service Center currently serves forty-three schools in fourteen counties in east central Indiana. The center is governed by the member agencies and provides services and materials to educators. Two conference rooms and a computer lab are used for training. The educational services are provided on a cooperative basis to schools thus saving both time and money.
