This site addresses the following Indiana Standards 2000 for English:
- 9.1.3: Use knowledge of Greek, Roman, and Norse mythology to understand the origin and meaning of new words. Note to teachers: No words from Norse myth are included because I only know of three words (berserk, rune, and valkyrie) which entered English from Norse mythology, aside from the days of the week.
- 9.6.3: Produce legible work that shows accurate spelling and correct use of the conventions of punctuation and capitalization.
- 10.1.3: Use knowledge of Greek, Roman, and Norse mythology to understand the origin and meaning of new words.
- 10.2.3: Demonstrate use of sophisticated technology by following technical directions.
- 10.6.3: Produce legible work that shows accurate spelling and correct use of the conventions of punctuation and capitalization.
