FCSC Calendar Updates - October 14th, 2026
The Fayette County School Corporation has revised its calendars for the 2026–2027 and 2027–2028 school years. Please note these important updates:
2026–2027 School Year
Following the August flooding, FCSC worked with the Indiana Department of Education to address the five missed student days.
The Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) has approved using instructional time already built into our school days above the statutory minimum to make up those days.
As a result, students will follow a 175-day calendar this school year, without adding five make-up days.
2027–2028 School Year
After receiving updated scheduling information for the Fayette County Fair, we have moved the first day of school to August 11, 2027, rather than August 4, to avoid overlapping with the fair.
Whitewater Career Center (WCC) will remain on its originally published calendar and begin August 4, 2027, as its other sending schools have already approved their calendars. Families with students attending WCC should plan for this difference in start dates.
We recognize that calendar changes affect family schedules, and we appreciate your grace, flexibility, and understanding. Thank you for your continued partnership and support of our students and schools.
