Educational Resources for Homeless Children and Families

Fayette County School Corporation is committed to providing homeless children and youth equal access to the same free, appropriate public education, including a public preschool education, as other children and youths. This webpage is designed to provide families important information about enrolling, attending, and succeeding in school.

The McKinney-Vento Act is designed to address the challenges that homeless children and youths face in enrolling and participating in schools. McKinney-Vento requires that homeless children and youths have access to the educational and related services that they need to enable them to meet the same challenging State academic standards to which all students are held.

Important information about student and family rights, as well as resource information and local contacts may be found below. Parents, family members and caregivers should feel free to reach out to determine what resources are available for impacted children and youth.
